What is Entertaiment?

Entertaiment is about the euphoric feeling of forgetting your problems, being immersed in the moment. It has the ability to trigger brain chemicals like seratonin, dopamine and others. It stimulates the brain and is the way it was evolved to react deeply.

Where did the word Entertaiment come from?

The suffix -ment is common to many English words that form nouns of action. It is derived from Latin -mentum, which was inserted in place of -y after verb stems (as in amazement, betterment, and merriment) to indicate the result or product of the action. It entered English in the late 15th century via French.

The experience of entertainment can take many forms, ranging from reading books and poetry to playing video games or sports; attending live performances such as dance or comedy shows; and appreciating visual art. It is often associated with amusement, though it may also have a serious purpose as in ceremonies, religious festivals, and satire for example.
